Fluffy’s Plans For World Domination

Did you know that June 24th is Cat World Domination Day? Of course, if you were to ask Fluffy, she would probably insist that every day is Cat World Domination Day. She wouldn’t be entirely wrong, either. Many of our feline pals have their humans firmly wrapped around their adorable little paws! What are these cuddly little furballs up to? Here, a Brandon, FL vet discusses kitty domination tactics.

The Meow

We’re suspect that cats know full well that we have a hard time resisting their plaintive meows. Actually Fluffy may have started meowing specifically to boss us around. Kitties rarely ‘speak’ to one another: they use body language and facial expressions to communicate with one another.

R & R

Cats can sleep up to 20 hours a day, and may rotate from spot to spot for their morning, midmorning, noon, afternoon, and evening naps. (This will help your pet ensure that she’s evenly distributing her fur throughout your home.) Kitties certainly are adorable when they’re snoozing. They do this on purpose, so we’ll feel bad for moving them mid-nap. Many people stay in their chairs when their cats are on their laps, just to avoid disturbing them. Well played, Fluffy. Well played.

Internet Takeover

Though there have been no official studies, we guestimate that cat photos, memes, and videos take up about 65% of the worldwide web. People just can’t get enough of watching cute kitty videos! Is Fluffy slowly brainwashing us? Is that why she likes to sit and sleep on our laptops and keyboards? One has to wonder.

Reading Interruptions

Settling down to read with a good book and a purring cat sounds very relaxing. In actuality, Fluffy isn’t always the best reading buddy. Kitties like to paw at our books and magazines, and sometimes use them as beds. They just hate it when we pay attention to anything other than them!

Fluffy’s Plans

What if cats are plotting world domination? What are their plans? We suspect that Fluffy would demand catnip and cat grass be planted in every yard. Stocked fishponds would also probably be required on every corner. You may even be required to spend a certain amount of time every day playing with or cuddling your pet.

Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day

If you have a kitty, you may want to put a pawprint on your calendar for January 22nd: It’s Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day! Our feline buddies are known for being a bit curious, if not downright nosy. A Brandon, FL vet lists some of Fluffy’s most pressing questions in this article.

Why Does The Sunbeam Move?

Does your kitty like to sprawl out in the sun for her naps? Fluffy may move around from spot to spot as the sun changes position. Your furry buddy may want to know why she has to keep moving!

What’s Wrong With The Dog?

Dogs are great pets, but they don’t make a lot of sense to cats. Fido doesn’t know how to use a litterbox, enjoys car rides, does what the humans tell him, and hates baths. This must all be very confusing to Fluffy!

Why Won’t You Let Me-Owt?

Cats are much safer staying indoors, where they are protected from things like predators, bad weather, other kitties, cars, and other hazards. However, Fluffy isn’t purrticularly concerned about these things: she just wants to explore.

Why Don’t You Let Me Help?

Our feline friends really do appreciate the love and care we give them. Fluffy may try to repay you by ‘assisting’ you with things like folding laundry, doing the sheets, or balancing your checkbook. Of course, your furball probably isn’t actually very helpful, but it’s the thought that counts, right?

Why Are You Ignoring Me?

Fluffy may very well ignore you when you’re watching TV, then meow for attention when you’re trying to do something. Your feline overlord may want to know what could ever be more important than petting her.

Why Can’t I Play With That?

Your cute little house pet is a fierce predator at heart. To Fluffy, a bottle cap may seem like a worthy adversary. It’s definitely in your furball’s best interests for you to take potentially-dangerous items away from her, but she may not see it that way.

Why Do I Have To Visit The Vet?

Fluffy may not understand the point of vaccinations, exams, parasite control, or other aspects of veterinary care. However, she’ll both look and feel better with proper veterinary care!

That may take care of Fluffy’s questions, but do you have any questions about your cat’s health or care? Call us, your Brandon, FL veterinary clinic, today!

Fluffy’s New Year Resolutions

Happy New Year! Are you setting new goals for yourself this year? If so, your kitty will be right there at your feet (or on your sofa) as you strive to make your goals. As it turns out, your furball may also have some resolutions of her own. A Brandon, FL vet lists some of them below.

Catch The Red Dot

Kitties may be adorable and cuddly, but they are actually fierce predators in the wild, and are more or less hardwired to pounce on things. However, that little red dot has been eluding Fluffy for years. Maybe 2019 will finally be the year she catches her mysterious prey!

Relax

We’re pretty sure your feline pal won’t have a hard time achieving this goal. Cats sleep, on average, about 14 hours a day. (We’re not sure why kitties are so tired, but that’s beside the point.) Help your drowsy pet meet this resolution by offering her lots of comfy beds and napping spots.

Gain Complete Control Of Humans

Does your kitty have you trained to pet or feed her on demand? Do you delay getting up when your cat is on your lap, to avoid disturbing her? These are a few signs that your kitty has you wrapped around her paws. Don’t worry, though: even if Fluffy does achieve world domination, she’ll still only request beds, attention, toys, treats, and tuna fish.

Explore!

Kitties are very adventurous, but they are really much safer living indoors. Of course, staying inside won’t curb your cat’s taste for adventure. Fluffy will spend some of 2019 exploring closets, boxes, and various nooks and crannies in your home.

Work On Computer Skills

Cats seem to be drawn to computers, though they usually utilize them as beds. Fluffy also has a habit of walking across her humans’ keyboards. Who knows? Your kitty may be trying to figure out how to order cat furniture!

Supervise The Humans

Our feline friends are very curious, and perhaps a bit nosy. Cats like to pay close attention to their owners. Your cute pet may even follow you around from room to room! Get your furball a cat tower or window seat, so she can get a better view.
